Fatima Zahid Ali is a PhD Researcher with the ECHO research group at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in Brussels, Belgium. She is currently working on a doctoral thesis on language appropriation and abrogation by the transgender subaltern in postcolonial media discourses.

Fien Van Rosendaal earned her master's degree in Sociology of Culture and Inequality from the University of Antwerp in 2022. Following her studies, she joined Ligo Brusselleer, where she worked closely with illiterate adults.

Florian Stegen works as a teaching assistant and PhD student at the Department of Communication Studies at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). He graduated in 2022 from the VUB with a thesis on the importance of opening credits in different Hollywood franchises.

Giacomo Toffano is a PhD fellow of the Research Council – Flanders (FWO) and a member of ECHO, the research group on media, culture, and politics at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium.

Gijs Lambrechts is a teaching assistant and PhD candidate at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel.
