Giacomo Toffano

Giacomo Toffano is a PhD fellow of the Research Council – Flanders (FWO) and a member of ECHO, the research group on media, culture, and politics at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. He obtained his MSc in Journalism and Media (2020 – VUB), and his research now focuses on genre-hybridizations in migration narratives. In particular, Giacomo studies the production of hybrid media contents on migration that combine fiction with journalism, cartography, and data visualization. He also holds an MSc in Political Science – European Studies (Università degli Studi di Padova - 2014) and has worked for five years as Accredited Parliamentary Assistant at the European Parliament.
