Pascal Verhoest

Pascal Verhoest's research focuses on the processes that underpin social perception. His methodological approach draws on neuropsychology, social psychology, sociology and communication studies. In collaboration with Chinese colleagues, he is conducting comparative studies of Western countries and China to establish the link between social perception, culture, and political economy.

Much of his research lies at the intersection of the social and environmental sciences. In this context, he is collaborating with natural scientists on a research programme concerning the reuse of wastewater. Pascal Verhoest has professional experience in communication policy and innovation, having held relevant positions in the Belgian Federal Government and the European Commission.
