ANOTHER AWARD FOR LES VOYAGEURS!
We are delighted to announce that your film The Travelers has won the Studio l’Équipe Award.
The Festival des Libertés Jury’s statement explaining its decision is as follows:
The Studio l’Équipe Award goes to The Travelers, directed by David Bingong, a masterful film that offers a unique perspective on migration journeys and resonates particularly powerfully with the realities of our times. In a context where discussions about migration are too often reduced to numbers, borders and security concerns, the film chooses to place people back at the heart of the story.
With its radiant energy and deeply endearing characters, The Travelers challenges conventional representations and restores the full humanity of those whose stories are too often told by others. The joy, humour and vitality that run throughout the film do not erase the difficulties and hardships faced by its protagonists. On the contrary, they reveal each individual’s ability to imagine new possibilities, forge connections and continue moving forward despite the obstacles.
Through its accessible and deeply human approach, the film also has considerable educational value. It creates a space for understanding and dialogue, brings depth and nuance to complex realities, and invites us to move beyond preconceived ideas and see migration journeys through the eyes of those who experience them. A generous and essential work, whose resonance with current events reminds us that behind migration policies and borders lie, above all, human lives, hopes and aspirations.
