Florian Stegen
In November 2023, Echo researcher Florian Stegen published his first book review in Journal of Digital Media & Policy. In this publication, he discusses the various chapters from World Cinema on Demand: Global Film Cultures in the Era of Online Distribution, a book, edited by Stefano Baschiera and Alexander Fisher, that offers an in-depth analysis of the role of streaming services within global film cultures and national cinema. He concludes that the book provides a good foundation for anyone interested in online distribution models, but that it sometimes risks feeling ‘outdated’ due to its extensive focus on the pre-COVID-19 era.
