Yuejue Zhang is currently a PhD candidate at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She graduated from the Master of Journalism and Communication Studies at the University of Chongqing (China) in June 2019. In 2017, she spent the second year of her master program in SciencesPo Paris (France), and then did an internship in China Central TV Station (CCTV) as a news editor. Her PhD project focuses on Europeans’ perceptions of Chinese people, and the linkage between stereotypes and social factors. Her research interest lies in the dynamics of stereotypical perceptions towards minority groups, with a particular interest in the impact of media framing and social attitudes (eg, intergroup contact, cosmopolitism).
