Jinxixi Lyu

Jinxixi Lyu (PhD VUB 2026) is a visiting postdoctoral researcher at ECHO, Vrije Universiteit Brussel. She graduated in 2016 from Northwestern Polytechnical University in Xi’an, China with a Master degree with a study of cultural cognition of “Chinese Road” from a western perspective. Her doctoral research focuses on the public/private debate and its impact on social media. Particularly, it aims to investigate the conceptual differences of the public/private notions between the western and Chinese context and to examine their reflections on Chinese social media regulation. For this purpose, a case study of Chinese social media is conducted through a qualitative approach.
