Fatima Zahid Ali is a PhD Researcher at ECHO. Her research revolves around radical Islamist discourses and resistive counternarratives of cultural identity on social media platforms. Other interests include emerging digital publics and cultures in South Asia, in particular Pakistan. Fatima is also a Teaching Assistant within the Communication Sciences department for the BSc in Social Sciences international program at the VUB. Previously, she has an MBA from University of Wales and an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) in Digital Communication Leadership (DCLead) from University of Salzburg in Austria and Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium.
